Happy may friends!!! Its time for books & blends!! This month is my birthday month, so I just had to be a little biased when choosing this month’s picks!

Our book pick is by one of my favorite cheesy rom com authors, Sally Thorne. This book has also been adapted into a movie starring Lucy Hale and I have to say I’m pleased with how they adapted it! It stayed true to the book for the most part, so I’d recommend watching after you finish the book (its currently streaming on Hulu)! Our wine pick is a personal favorite as well. If you know me, you know I love cheap champagne — I even told Andrew all I want for my birthday is to sit outside and drink champagne - LOL the most me thing ever. It also pairs well with this book because there’s lots to celebrate as you’ll come to learn. & finally, the essential oil diffuser blend pick is harmony (see what I did there? yeah, you can giggle).

Enjoy, my sweet friends!

Book pick: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

Now a movie starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell, USA Today bestselling author Sally Thorne’s hilarious and sexy workplace comedy all about that thin, fine line between hate and love.

Nemesis (n.)

1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.

2) A person’s undoing

3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.

Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.

Wine Pick: La Marca Prosecco

The delicate La Marca Prosecco has a pale, golden straw color and sparkles with lively effervescence. Opening with aromas of fresh-picked citrus and honeysuckle blossoms, the crisp, clean palate brings fruity flavors of green apple, juicy peach and ripe lemon, framed by hints of minerality. The finish is light and refreshing with a tantalizing hint of sweetness.

Always serve La Marca Prosecco chilled between 46-50°F. A versatile Italian Sparkling wine, La Marca Prosecco can be served in sparkling flutes or white wine glasses. A full bottle serves approximately 5-7 glasses. After pouring the first round, seal the opened bottle with a bottle stopper to keep remaining wine fresh and effervescent and keep the wine chilled to 46-50°F. An opened bottle should last about 3-4 hours with the bottle closure.

La Marca Prosecco has the charm to stand alone as an aperitif, but it also has the body and the acidity to pair well with a range of foods, from seafood and mild cheeses to rich pasta dishes and decadent desserts.
