3 free must-see campsites

alright friends, one of the most asked questions I get is where do you camp in your van for free? so today I’m sharing 3 of my favorite campsites across the country. it’s important to remember a few things before I share these sites with the world:

  • leave no trace.

  • consider carrying an extra trash bag to pick any trash surrounding the campsites or land near the sites.

  • prepare a head of time with water, toilets, food, etc.

vedauwoo | 30 minutes from Cheyenne, Wyoming

this space was beautiful! there was lots of dispersed campsites. you are only allowed to camp at sites with pre-established fire rings.

buffalo gap grasslands | 5 minutes from wall, South Dakota

I absolutely loved this campsite!!! it was completely free & open with beautiful views! you’re also about 10 minutes from the bad lands national park entrance! look for the teal gate for the entrance!

blm land | 10 minutes outside salida, colorado

the views were magical at this space! the sites were very private & well maintained. would definitely recommend! the road was a little bumpy but our fwd did just fine!
